HC Deb 01 March 1906 vol 152 c1284
MR. BOTTOMLEY (Hackney, S.)

To ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether His Majesty's Government have taken into consideration the possibility of the whole of the Chinese labourers in the Transvaal availing themselves of the opportunity of at once returning home at the expense of the Imperial exchequer; and whether any, and, if, so, what steps are in contemplation to deal with such a contingency.

(Answered by Mr. Churchill.) From the information at their disposal, His Majesty's Government do not regard such a contingency as at all likely to occur.
