HC Deb 28 June 1906 vol 159 c1105
MR. DUFFY

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether the Estates Commissioners have received a memorial from a body of very small tenants in the parish of Ardrahan, county Galway, as well as from a body of suitable applicants who are anxious to secure holdings, requesting them to consider their claims to the untenanted lands recently purchased by the Estates Commissioners from Mr. Burton Persse in the parish of Ardrahan; and whether any decision has been arrived at in reference to the allocation of these lands.

(Answered by Mr. Bryce.) The Estates Commissioners inform me that they are unable to identify, from the information furnished in the Question, the particular memorial referred to. Proceedings for the sale of a portion of the Burton Persse Estate have been instituted before the Commissioners, and all applications for land received from the tenants and others have been referred to their inspector for inquiry in connection with his inspection. These applications will be considered by the Commissioners in due course.
