HC Deb 27 June 1906 vol 159 c928
* MR. REES

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India whether he will lay upon the Table any despatch or papers which will illustrate the difficulties with which the Government of the new province of Eastern Bengal has had to contend in consequence of the different attitude towards the creation of that province evinced by a section of the Hindus, who are the minority, and by the Mahomedans, who are the majority of the population.

MR. MORLEY

As soon as I receive full official reports on this subject, for which I have telegraphed to the Government of India, I will at once consider the question of laying Papers on the Table.
