HC Deb 27 June 1906 vol 159 cc934-5
MR. ARMITAGE (Leeds, Central)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Education whether a grant will be made to the county borough councils, similar to that to be made to the county councils, of £2 per year for travelling and other expenses of pupil teachers, seeing that in a scattered county borough area the costs to the pupil teachers are often in excess of those in a county area.

MR. BIRRELL

The Board are unable to accede to the suggestion of the hon. Member.
