HC Deb 27 June 1906 vol 159 cc945-6
MR. JOHN ROCHE

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that the tenants on the estate of Miss Kathleen Ffrench, of Monivea Castle, county Galway, agreed on terms of sale in April, 1905; that the request for sale was lodged with the Land Commission in October, 1905; will he say whether the estate has yet been inspected or when it will be; and what are the terms of the tenants' present liability, either to the landlord or the Land Commission.

* MR. BRYCE

The Estates Commissioners have no information that terms of sale have been agreed upon between the landlord and tenants in this case. It is the case that the landlord, in October last, lodged a request that the Estates Commissioners should purchase the estate, and this request is at present under consideration. As no sale appears to have taken place, it is presumed that the tenants' liability to the landlord, whatever it may have been, remains unchanged.
