HC Deb 27 June 1906 vol 159 c939
MR. THOMAS O'DONNELL (Kerry, W.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether, in view of the action of the intermediate board in refusing to obey a Resolution of the House of Commons on a subject which the Irish people feel strongly on, and also seeing that this Board and the national board are unrepresentative and independent, he will appoint a Committee to inquire into and report on the possibility of getting a board appointed by the Irish people to manage primary, secondary, and technical education.

MR. BRYCE

Since the hon. Member gave notice of this Question, I have fully informed him of the facts in reply to a Question put by him on Monday.† It is not the case that the Board of Intermediate Education refuse to obey the Resolution of the House. I have told the hon. Member that three or four times already.

MR. THOMAS O'DONNELL

The right hon. Gentleman has not answered the last part of my Question.

MR. BRYCE

That deals with a much larger Question.
