Motion made, and Question proposed, "That it is expedient to authorise the payment, out of moneys to be provided by Parliament, of an additional Annual Grant, not exceeding one million pounds, to be distributed among Local Education Authorities in pursuance of any Act of the present session to make further provision with respect to Education in England and Wales, and of the remuneration and Expenses of the Commissioners appointed under such Act."—(Mr. Lough.)

Question put forthwith, pursuant to the Order of the House of the 18th June. The Committee proceeded to a Division.

The Chairman named Mr. Whiteley and Mr. Joseph Pease as Tellers for the Ayes; but, there being no Members willing to act as Tellers for the Noes, he declared the Ayes had it.
