MR. P. A. McHUGHI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can state, in terms of years' purchase, the average price paid by the Estates Commissioners for congested estates purchased by them in each of the years ended March 31st, 1904, 1905, and 1906 respectively.
MR. BRYCEThe Estates Commissioners inform me that they have not yet completed the purchase of any congested estate. They have agreed during the year ended March 31st, 1906, to purchase one congested estate and the price to be paid for tenanted portion of this estate is 22 2 years purchase.
