HC Deb 26 June 1906 vol 159 c782
SIR THOMAS ESMONDE

I bag to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he will give a Return, showing the result of the inquiries made by the Board of Public Works in Ireland, in connection with the investigations conducted by the late Government with a view to the extension of the operations of the Marine Works Act to districts outside the congested districts, and referred to in this House by the late Chief Secretary in March, 1905, and by his predecessor in July, 1904, and March, 1904.

MR. CHERRY

I am informed that there is no record of any investigation having been conducted by the late Irish Government with the view indicated in the Question, and that the Board of Works have made no inquiries in the matter. I cannot find that either of my predecessors in office referred to the subject in this House at the dates mentioned, but if the hon. Baronet will give me a more precise reference I will have the matter further looked into.
