HC Deb 26 June 1906 vol 159 cc765-6
MR. LAIDLAW (Renfrewshire, E.)

I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will lay upon the Table of the House a Return showing the number of commercial agents, other than consular agents, in the service of the respective Governments of Belgium, France, Germany, the United States of America, Japan, and Great Britain who are resident in the Colonies of Australia, and Canada and South Africa.

MR. CHURCHILL

I am afraid that considerable difficulty would be experienced in obtaining such a Return as the hon. Member desires; but if he can furnish me with more full information as to the object he has in view, I shall be in a better position to judge of the possibility of meeting his wishes.
