HC Deb 25 June 1906 vol 159 cc607-8
MR. P. A. McHUGH (Sligo, N.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether the Report of the Estates Commissioners for the year ended March 31st, 1906, has yet been issued; if not, can he say when it is likely to be available for Members and can he say when the Land Commission Report for the same year will be issued.

(Answered by Mr. Bryce.) The Estates Commissioners inform me that they anticipate that their Report will be ready for presentation by the middle of next month, and the Land Commission that their annual Report will be completed by about the same time. Such delay as has occurred in completing the Report of the Estates Commissioners is, they inform me, largely due to the diversion of much of the t me of their staff to the preparation of Answers to Questions put in this House. My recollection, however, is that this does not, however, in any way refer to Questions put by the hon. Member, whose Questions have not, according to my recollection, unduly occupied the time of the Commisioners or of any Irish Department.
