HC Deb 25 June 1906 vol 159 c618
MR. STEADMAN

To ask the First Commissioner of Works, the cause of the delay in opening up the roadway through the Mall to Charing Cross, in view of the inconvenience caused to the public generally, and more especially to those going Citywards.

(Answered by Mr. Harcourt.) It was decided by the late Government and the last Parliament, that the entrance from the Mall to Charing Cross should be by archways through the new Admiralty block, which is in course of construction. Until this building is completed it will be impossible to open the new roadway.
