HC Deb 25 June 1906 vol 159 cc613-4
MR. J. RAMSAY MACDONALD (Leicester)

To ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether Natal natives captured as rebels are being sentenced and sent to work in the Kimberley mines; whether he would inform the House what are the terms of contract which the Natal Government has made with the De Beers Company in respect to these rebels; and whether His Majesty's Government propose to make any representation to the Natal Government on the subject.

(Answered by Mr. Churchill.) I can add nothing to my previous Answers upon this subject except that I am confident that there is no contract in existence of the kind suggested, and that we have telegraphed to ask for information as to the facts.
