HC Deb 21 June 1906 vol 159 cc347-8
MR. G. GREENWOOD (Peterborough)

To ask the hon. Member for South Somerset, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture, if he can see his way to instruct the Ordnance Survey Department to issue maps of the United Kingdom on the scale of two inches to the statute mile.

(Answered by Sir Edward Strachey.) I am afraid it is not possible for us to adopt the suggestion made by my hon. friend. The preparation of a map on the proposed scale would involve a very considerable cost and would take some years to complete. Perhaps, however, he would confer personally with me on the subject.
