HC Deb 21 June 1906 vol 159 cc372-3
MR. CROMBIE (Kincardineshire)

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether, pending the Amendment of the. Teachers Superannuation Act, he will allocate a part of the money which falls to the Scottish Education Department as the equivalent of grants made to England, to supplement the pensions of those teachers, who have been retired since the introduction of the Superannuation Act.

MR. SINCLAIR

In view of the fact that in the Teachers Superannuation Act, Parliament has seen fit to prescribe specifically the conditions and amounts of pensions to teachers, it would not be proper to apply public monies to this purpose except in terms of the Act dealing with the subject.
