HC Deb 21 June 1906 vol 159 c383
MR. LONSDALE (Armagh, Mid.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether a principal teacher in the, Cornamona national school, county Galway. is on the records of the Commissioners of National Education as Michael O'Malley, son of Thomas O'Malley and Catherine O'Malley, of Kilmilkin, although the same individual was formerly two years monitor of the Leehane national school, at which time his official description was Michael John O'Malley, the son of Michael O'Malley and Sarah Joyce; and, if so, whether the Commissioners will institute an inquiry into the genuineness or otherwise of the birth certificate which was submitted by the said Michael O'Malley when he made application for the position of principal teacher.

* MR. BRYCE

The Commissioners of National Education inform me that the recorded name of the teacher of Cornamona boys' national school is Michael O'Malley, and that they have recently received a complaint to the effect that this teacher produced at the time of his app intment a certificate of age which did not relate to himself. The matter is at resent under inquiry by the senior inspector of the district.
