HC Deb 20 June 1906 vol 159 cc168-9
MR. BYLES

I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies if his official reports show that the death of the native chief Bambaata, now officially reported, will tend to check the alleged rebellion, or to increase the native disaffection in South Africa.

MR. CHURCHILL

The news which the Secretary of State has received shows that the Natal Government believe that the native disturbance will shortly be at an end; and that the death in action of the native chief Bambaata will prove to have aided and accelerated its conclusion.
