HC Deb 20 June 1906 vol 159 cc157-8
MR. LLOYD MORGAN (Carmarthenshire, W.)

To ask the First Commissioner of Works whether he will state the number of days in each year since January 1st, 1900, on which the fountains at the north end of the Serpentine have played; and what has been the annual cost of their repair and maintenance during the same period, and the initial cost, and upon whom it fell.

(Answered by Mr. Harcourt.) The fountains usually play from Easter to the end of September, but no register is kept of the actual number of days. There is no record of the initial cost of the fountains, and I regret that I am unable to furnish the annual cost of maintenance, as the pumps which work these fountains supply also the Round Pond and the Serpentine.
