HC Deb 20 June 1906 vol 159 cc190-1
MR. O'SHAUGHNESSY

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he can say whether, having regard to the fact that John Sheehy, William Ryan and Owen Sheehy, of Raheen and Ballinaguile Croagh, in the County of Limerick, who were evicted from their holdings in the years 1884 and 1887, are still out of possession, and that the farms are in the possession of the landlord, Colonel R. Conway, an absentee landlord, he will take steps to see that the Estates Commissioners approach him with a view to bringing about a settlement.

MR. BRYCE

I have already informed the hon. Member that the Estates Commissioners have received applications for reinstatement from the three persons named, and that the cases will be inquired into by an inspector. Until the inspector's report has been received and considered, the Commissioners are unable to decide what action they may take in these cases. I can assure the hon. Member that the Estates Commissioners are doing their best to deal with, all these cases.
