HC Deb 20 June 1906 vol 159 cc147-8
MR. GINNELL (Westmeath, N.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he will make available to hon. Members a copy of the in- spector's report in the recent case of M'Glone, with the name of the inspector, his qualifications, experience, at whose instance he was first employed, and any explanation he has to offer of his conduct in fixing the value that he did on M'Glone's holding.

(Answered by Mr. Bryce.) The reports of the inspectors are confidential, being made for the information of the Estates Commissioners only, and it would be contrary to practice and to public policy to lay them upon the Table of the House. The Commissioners do not think it desirable to state the name of the inspector in the present case. They themselves are answerable for any action which they may take upon their inspectors' reports.
