HC Deb 19 June 1906 vol 159 c29
MR. P. A. MCHUGH (Sligo, N.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he has received a copy of a Resolution, adopted by the Sligo Rural District Council at its meeting on May 30th ultimo, expressing alarm at the action of the War Office in altering the tenders of the supply of meat to the Army, and declaring such action to be seriously injurious to agricultural interests in Ireland; and what action, if any, does he propose to take in regard to this matter.

(Answered by Mr. Bryce.) The Department of Agriculture and Technical Instruction are in communication with the Army Council in reference to this matter. I am not at present able to make a further statement on the subject.
