§ MR. BOTTOMLEYI beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is yet in a position to make any representation to His Majesty in reference to the sentence recently passed upon Hugh Watt; and, if not, whether he will be prepared to consider any further representations upon the subject.
§ *MR. GLADSTONEI can only refer to the Answer I gave to the hon. Member for East Leeds on May 28th,† and add that any further representations which may be made on Watt's behalf will, of course, receive my careful consideration.
