HC Deb 14 June 1906 vol 158 c1109
MR. O. C. PHILIPPS (Pembroke and Haverfordwest)

To ask the Secretary to the Admiralty if he can now give a definite assurance that there will be no further reductions at Pembroke Dockyard (other than what may be due to natural wastage) during the financial year ending March 31st, 1907.

(Answered by Mr. Edmund Robertson.) In addition to the reductions which have already taken place, it will be necessary to discharge about fifty more men at Pembroke, in order to make room for that number of apprentices who complete their time during the current financial year. Beyond this, no further reduction is contemplated other than that due to natural wastage.
