LONSDALEI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether the Commissioners of Intermediate Education have declined to modify their rules, so as to provide that the Irish language should have equal recognition with French and German; and what steps he proposes to take in these circumstances.
MR. BEYCECommunications in reference to this matter are still passing between the Irish Government and the Commissioners of Intermediate Education, and I am not in a position to make any statement on the subject.
