§ MR. SEDDON (Lancashire, Newton)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether the Clive Fund is still in existence; if so, what are the qualifications required to claim upon the same.
§ MR. MORLEYThe Clive Fund is not in existence. Under the terms of Lord Clive's bequest the capital sum mentioned in the Trust Deed has reverted to his representatives. Pensions to widows of officers of the late East India Company's Forces are, however, still granted under the Clive Fund Rules, subject to such amendments as have from time to time been made by the Secretary of State in Council.
