HC Deb 11 June 1906 vol 158 c698
SIR GILBERT PARKER (Gravesend)

On behalf of the hon. Member for Stepney, I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the anti-semitic disturbances involving peril to Jewish life and property which marked the end of the last and the beginning of the present year have subsided in Russia; and whether he has any reason for apprehending the recurrence of such disturbances.

THE SECRETARY TO THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. RUNCIMAN,, for Sir EDWABD GREY) Dewsbury

No reports of anti-semitic disturbances in Russia have recently been received by His Majesty's Government, and we have no reason to suppose that the measures taken by the Russian Government to prevent the recurrence of such disturbances will not prove effective.
