HC Deb 07 June 1906 vol 158 c529
MR. BOLAND

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that undue pressure has been used to cause tenants of the Blennerhasset and Stoghton estates, near Cahirciveen, to sign agreements for purchase, by means of threats to serve them with writs for twelve months rent where only six months was due; and whether he will direct the attention of the Estates Commissioners to the matter, so that it may be investigated before the sale is sanctioned.

MR. MCKENNA

The Estates Commissioners have no information that undue pressure has been used in the cases referred to, but they will cause the matter to be enquired into in due course by their inspector when he visits the estates.
