§ MR. FELL (Great Yarmouth)I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether it is proposed to construct a branch railway from Tarquah to the Aucobra River; if so, whether the contract will be submitted for public tender; and whether a more moderate scale of charges will prevail on such railway than on the present railway from Sekondi to Tarquah.
§ *MR. CHURCHILLA scheme is under consideration for the construction of a branch railway from Tarquah to Prestea, but it has not yet been submitted in final form for the decision of the Secretary of State. I am accordingly unable to reply at present to the latter parts of the Question.
