ROBERT HOBART (Hampshire, New Forest)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether as a sequel to the abolition of the appointment of Second-in-Command by Army Order 154, 1906, he will make such regulations as will ensure a minimum number of majors doing regimental duty, in view of the present system of appointing captains in the place of majors holding staff appointments.
§ MR. HALDANEIt is not considered expedient to make regulations on this subject, but my hon. friend can rest, assured that the point will not be overlooked.
