§ LORD BALCARRES (Lancashire, Chorley)I beg to ask the President of the Board of Education whether school hours include the whole time during which a school is open under the discretion of the local authority, or only the time set apart for secular instruction.
§ MR. BIRRELLThe phrase "school hours " does not occur in the Education Bill, and the Answer to the Question must depend upon the meaning attached by the hon. Member to that phrase. As I have no information on this, I cannot answer the Question. If he will put upon the Paper a more specific Question I will endeavour to give him a reply.
