HC Deb 09 July 1906 vol 160 cc485-6
MR. MEAGHER

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he can state if the Estates Commissioners have yet approached the tenant in occupation of the holding of Samuel Caldbeck, Waring's estate, Kilmanagh, county Kilkenny, who expressed his willingness to surrender the holding to Caldbeck on getting reasonable compensation; if not, what steps, if any, have been taken to provide Caldbeck with an equavalent holding.

(Answered by Mr. Bryce.) The Estates Commissioners inform me that they have received from Samuel Caldbock an application for reinstatement in a holding on the Waring estate. The Commissioners have not approached the present occupier of the evicted farm, but they intend to have Caldbeck's application inquired into in due course by one of their inspectors.
