§ MR. CLAUDE HAY (Shoreditch, Hoxton)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether Edward Guerin is a British subject; and whether he is to be extradited to France on the charge of being convicted of larceny in that country.
§ MR. GLADSTONEEdward Guerin has been committed to prison to await extradition to France. He has, however, applied for a writ of habeas corpus and a rule nisi has been granted. The question of his nationality will be decided on that application.
