WARDLEI beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade if his attention has been called to the death of Mr. Thomas Yardley at Vauxhall Station, London and North Western, Birmingham, by accident on June 26th, and to the verdict of the jury that proper provision was not made by the company's officials to protect Yardley's life, the rules laid down by the company having been infringed; and, if so, will he say what he proposes to do in the matter.
§ MR. LLOYD-GEORGEYes, Sir. The Board of Trade have received a report of the fatal accident in question, and also a copy of the verdict and rider of the coroner's jury. I am ordering an inquiry into the circumstances of the accident to be held on behalf of the Board.
