HC Deb 04 July 1906 vol 160 cc9-10
MR. BEODIE (Surrey, Reigate)

To ask the President of the Local Government Board what steps are being taken to carry into effect the recommendations of the Report of the Departmental Committee on Vagrancy; whether it is possible to carry these recommendations into effect entirely by administrative action; and whether, if legislation is necessary to ensure the adoption of any of the recommendations, such legislation is in contemplation.

(Answered by Mr. John Burns.) I am in communication with my light hon. friend the Home Secretary with regard to the recommendations of the Committee. Legislation would be necessary to give effect to some of these recommendations, but it is not intended to propose legislation on the subject during the present session.
