GIBBS (Bristol, W.)I beg to ask the President of the Board of Education what is the total amount of Treasury grant paid to Welsh intermediate schools under Section 9 of the Welsh Intermediate Education Act, 1889, in the last complete year; and what is the total amount of grant paid to those schools under the secondary school regulations in the same period.
§ MR. LOUGHthe figures are as follows:—The total amount of grant paid under Section 9 of the Welsh Intermediate Education Act, 1889, in respect of the year ending June 30th, 1905, was £22,281 3s. 7d. The total amount paid under the Regulations for Secondary Schools for the same year was £16,102 17s. 0d.
