SIR E. BOYLE (Taunton)

To ask the President of the Board of Education whether he will publish a Return showing the percentages of voters who recorded their votes at the last school board elections held in urban areas, with a population of 5,000 and upwards; and whether he will also publish a Return, naming the urban areas with a population of 5,000 and upwards, in which there are no provided schools, or less accommodation in provided schools than would suffice to meet the requirements of 20 per cent, of the school children in such places.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.)I have no information as to the matter referred to in the first paragraph of the Question. As regards the second paragraph, I will lay upon the Table at the end of the week a list of the areas referred to. I am unable to give any figures or facts as to the third paragraph of the Question, nor do I see that any trustworthy information could be obtained from any such figures, if they were available.
