HC Deb 03 July 1906 vol 159 cc1629-30
MR. BRIDGEMAN (Shropshire, Oswestry)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Education if the State- aided schools, established by Clause 4 of the Education Bill, will be regarded as public elementary schools.

MR. BIRRELL

I must refer the hon. Member to the Answer I gave on Thursday last to the Member for Chorley, † to which I have nothing to add.

LORD BALCARRES (Lancashire, Chorley)

The effect of that Answer was that the right hon. Gentleman had not made up his mind.

MR. BIRRELL

I do not think they are public elementary schools.
