HC Deb 02 July 1906 vol 159 c1398
MR. SLOAN (Belfast, S.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that the Templepatrick and Mallusk national schools are within one mile from Roughfort school; and whether, in view of this fact, he will consider the advisability, in the interests of economy, of recommending the withdrawal of the grant from Roughfort school.

(Answered by Mr. Bryce.) The Commissioners of National Education inform me that the question of the necessity for Roughfort national school has already been under their consideration, but in view of the recent increase in the average attendance, they have decided to take no action for the present. The attendance for the quarter ended 31st March last was 36.
