HC Deb 02 July 1906 vol 159 cc1377-8
MR. J. P. NANNETTI

To ask the Postmaster-General what is the departmental rule in regard to making entries against a man on his official record sheet; if an officer applies would he be supplied with a copy of the entries made against him; if trivial reports made against a man by an official, on being dismissed in the man's favour after investigation by superior and competent authority, are recorded against the man on his record sheet; and whether an official is allowed to cause entries to be made against a man simply because he, the official, suspected, reported, and attempted to show that the man had committed an offence against discipline, notwithstanding the fact that the man proved his innocence of committing any disciplinary offence, and the reports falling through.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) I am not sure what is the precise information desired by the hon. Member in answer to the first part of his Question. An officer would be supplied on application with a copy of the entries made against him. The Answer to the remaining parts of the Question is in the negative.
