HC Deb 22 February 1906 vol 152 cc494-5
DR. RUTHERFORD (Middlesex, Brentford)

To ask the Secretary of State for War through what channel the proceedings at the first day's sitting of the district court martial, assembled for the trial of Staff Sergeant Major Hilton, Army Service Corps, was communicated to the Press, as on the first day on which the court assembled the Exchange Telegraph Company published a report of what had taken place, contrary to the provisions of the King's Regulations.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) The hon. Member is under a misapprehension. This court, like other courts martial, was open to the public, and therefore the Press was at liberty to publish a report of the proceedings.
