I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether his attention has been called to the nature of the attacks recently made by the troops of the Congo State upon the Soudan frontier; and will he say what steps he proposes to take in the matter.

His Majesty's Government have no information as to any attacks having recently been made by 342 troops of the Congo State on the Soudan frontier or as to any fighting having occurred. Certain posts have been established within territory considered by His Majesty's Government as indisputably belonging to the Soudan, and His Majesty's Government are in communication with the Government of the Congo on the subject.
