BARNES (Glasgow, Blackfriars)I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade if his attention has been called to the circumstances attending the death by accident of a boy named Robert William Gill, aged fourteen, who was killed while 1715 engaged in shunting operations on the Easingwold railway; and if he can take steps to prevent young persons being employed on railways in dangerous work such as stoking or shunting.
§ MR. LLOYD-GEORGEThis sad accident has been notified to the Board of Trade by the Railway Company concerned, and I have ordered an inquiry to be held by an officer of the Department.
