§ MR. THOMAS F. SMYTH (Leitrim, S.)To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if an application for reinstatement has been received from Thomas Prior, Liscroty, Garradice, county Leitrim, who was evicted from his holding in the townland of Stroke, in the vicinity of Ballinamore, county Leitrim; and, if so, what action will be taken in the matter, considering that the inspector who visited that district recently had the name of Mrs. Prior, who is sister-in-law to Thomas Prior, on his books, whereas Thomas Prior was tenant formerly, and his brother, now deceased, being only sub tenant to him.
§ (Answered by Mr. Bryce.) The Estates Commissioners inform me that they have received a joint application for reinstatement from Thomas and Sarah Prior, but cannot trace the receipt of a separate application from Thomas Prior. The case has been referred to an inspector for inquiry, and until his Report has been received and considered the Commissioners are unable to say what action they may take in the matter.
