§ MAJOR ANSTRUTHER-GRAYTo ask the Secretary of State for India whether, in view of the delay in the reply to his question of last July as to the desirability of allowing officers to draw their privilege leave pay at the Home Treasury, a matter of importance to officers concerned, and in view of the time that it has taken to receive a satisfactory reply to his cables with regard to the prevailing sickness at Rawul Pindi, he will consider the necessity of addressing the Government of India in reference to these matters.
§ (Answered by Mr. Secretary Morley.) The question about sickness at Rawal Pindi was originally asked in the House on 29th November. I have telegraphed to India and the Government reply that they are making inquiries. The hon. Member will allow that such inquiries take time. I am in daily expectation of the information. A further communication has been made to the Government of India regarding the question of privilege leave allowance.
