§ SIR WALTER FOSTER (Derbyshire, Ilkeston)I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether it is proposed to introduce a Bill next session for the purpose of giving effect to the two main recommendations of the Report of the Departmental Committee on Vagrancy, viz., the transfer of the superintendence of vagrant wards from the Poor Law authorities to the police, and the establishment of labour colonies to which habitual vagrants may be sent for detention.
§ MR. JOHN BURNSI am in communication with my right hon. friend the Home Secretary on this subject, but I am not in a position to give any intimation as to legislation next session with regard to it.
