HC Deb 10 December 1906 vol 166 c1528
Mr. F. E. SMITH (Liverpool, Walton)

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether, having regard to the report of the Select Committee appointed to consider the Sunday closing of shops, he will consider sympathetically the widely-spread desire that legislation on the subject shall be introduced in the next Session of Parliament.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Gladstone.) I can assure the hon. Member that the matter has my sympathetic consideration, but I am afraid I cannot at the present time say anything as to the prospects of legislation.
