§ MR. CLYNES (Manchester, N. E.)On behalf of the hon. Member for South West Ham, I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board what amount of money has been allocated to the distress committees of the various boroughs out of the £200,000 set aside for the relief of the unemployed.
§ THE PRESIDENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. JOHN BURNS,) BatterseaPayments amounting to about £25,000 have been made out of the grant by way of instalment up to the present time to the Central (Unemployed) Body for London and to distress committees in other parts of England and Wales. Further payments are being made.
