§ MR. ALDEN (Middlesex, Tottenham)I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury at what age the non-pensionable workmen in the employ of the various State Departments are called upon to retire; and what classes of such workmen receive gratuities on retirement.
§ MR. MCKENNANo uniform age is prescribed for the retirement of non-pensionable workmen. Each Department makes its own arrangements on the subject. Such workmen receive gratuities on retirement if they fulfil the conditions laid down by Section 4 of the Superannuation Act of 1887.
