§ MR. STEADMAN (Finsbury, Central)To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will inquire into the operation of the beef trust of the United States, as regards the attempt which is being made by the trust to capture the whole of the wholesale and retail beef trade of the United Kingdom, and to raise the price of meat to the consumer.
(Answered by Mr. Lloyd-George.) I have received no information of such an attempt as that referred to, but the matter will be carefully watched.
