HC Deb 04 December 1906 vol 166 c765
MR. COCHRANE (Ayrshire, N.)

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland what sum, if any, the Treasury propose to give to the Royal Society of Edinburgh to enable them to secure suitable accommodation.

MAJOR ANSTRUTHER-GRAY (St. Andrews Burghs)

At the same time may I ask the Secretary for Scotland in view of the Report of the Departmental Committee, what steps he intends to take with regard to housing the Royal Society in Edinburgh; and what sum of money the Treasury has arranged to grant.

MR. SINCLAIR

Negotiations with a view to housing the Royal Society in a suitable way are now in progress, and I hope to be in a position to make a full statement upon the Committee stage of the Bill.
